Christmas!

Zeke was very spoiled this holiday season, thanks to "Santa" aka Grandma. I'm working on getting the video up of Christmas Eve opening his first Thomas present. But below gives you a good idea of how his Christmas turns out.

Thanks to Aunt Sharon and Uncle Bob for the AWESOME quilt :) And Grandma for making him so excited...and for adding a billion little pieces to my house. *shakes head*

Praying your Christmas was blessed this year!

Playing Choo Choo

My girlfriend mentioned she wanted some video of Z... but sometimes just texting or sending pics to FB is easier... So here you go. Taken last night (12/22) while we were watching something. He loves playing with his trucks, filling them with stuff and driving them around the house proclaiming "choo, choo." He definitely loves his trains, and one day we'll head down to Nashville's train museum... so he can experience some trains up close and personal.

He's still not speaking loads of words, he needs a lot of annunciation work, but we slowly ask him to repeat things. He's a work in progress. :D

Holiday fun

Short post from the phone...and sorry Santa is sideways, apparently just because I rotate it on my phone  doesn't mean it posts the right way :/

My mother has a thing for Zeke using pictures every year with Santa...but she normally takes him...and since she's not here...we had to. He wasn't a big fan of the guy...so we sat with him..guess it didn't turn out too bad after all.

Earlier today I came home from a church event & found the house quiet. Marcus asleep & the kid nowhere to be found... I checked his room & nothing so I woke up the sick husband...in a frantic we searched the rooms & closets until M finally found him in our coat closet ... Asleep on shoes. Silly kid.

Last pic is from a few days ago, we opened the kid's box of books & there was some daddy reading time....except Z doesn't really care for anyone else to read to him... He'd rather "read" it to you.

That's all for now! Aloha.

Konked out

After spending the better part of  minutes in Moriah's first birthday bouncy house...it took less than 10 for him to sleep. Yesssss. ;)

Silly kid

I stormed into the room thinking I would scold him for not being on his bed, and instead I found him already asleep in this nook by the window, trying to use the curtain as a sheet.

Big Boy

Well, I have some pics but they're not uploaded. But for the past couple days the kid has kind of successfully transitioned to a big boy bed. And by that I mean a futon on the floor.

He started climbing out of the crib during naptime, and not wanting to sleep. So, at that point (when he climbed out like 16 times), it was just easier to put him on the futon. It took at least an hour that first nap time for him to sleep, but he finally went down. Then that night at bedtime, he fell down on his "bed" and knew that's where he would sleep.

It's mostly going well, but the hardest thing is his naptime. We all know that Z likes to pretend he isn't tired and fight through it, so sometimes he tends to just play with his books or look out the window (when I don't catch him right away on the monitor and tell him to lay down). Like today, he didn't nap. So by 9:30p he pretty much laid down on the futon, tried to read a book, and then passed out. I don't know if this is the end of naps (seems too early right?!) Or if he just needs to learn how to take better naps on the bed. I dunno.

Either way, the house is clearing out. Hubby took apart the mini crib (I'm trying to sell on Craigslist to no avail yet), and slowly life is being put in storage. We'll see what the realtor says tomorrow when we meet with her. Either way, Marcus has done a great job getting the place ready.

That's it for Z updates, oh yes, he's getting very independent and he enjoys feeding himself. :) Here's proof--sorry it's sideways, I'm still trying to figure out my phone, and youtube... if anyone knows how to rotate it, lemme know!

New Pictures

Woah, has it been a while. Between the surgery 22 Feb, and getting back to work, and all that stuff that "mom" always does... I've been slacking in the update department. Here are some pics and a little video.

Mar 19 - Z and I hung out a lot in bed after my surgery. He's getting ready to say goodnight.

12 Mar - We're trying to get Z used to using the toilet, he'll generally always use it before bath time, otherwise, he's not into it.

2 Mar - He is starting to appreciate the camera. He imitated me saying "cheese" and he smiled :D

28 Apr- Crazy sleeping position
1 April - Weirdo.

26 May - he went through a phase of lifting up his mattress...

21 May - Hanging out with the Mandaquits!

13 May - Z got to hang out with his old flame Kailia at Sea Life Park...he enjoyed imitating her

4 May - Z playing with Marcus' grandmother's ukelele

Poor kid...

I've abandoned Zeke's blog in the aftermath (and some beforemath) of this surgery of mine. But I figured I could at least update with some random factoids (since I currently can't find my doohickey to upload pics).

Tonight he started going to sleep with the blanket over his head rocking back and forth. Hubster was concerned, but I didn't think anything of it. Perhaps he was concerned about some more sirens going off tonight (although he didn't wake up until they had gone off quite a few times around 4am last night). Anyway, hubby goes in to check on him after he falls asleep and calls me to the room. He had pulled the mattress on top of him! Not a significant feat of accomplishment since it's a thin mattress, about 2-3 inches of foam covered in plastic (it's a mini crib)...but still scary to think about suffocation. It was tented, so he could breathe, but we still pulled him out and put him on top of his mattress. Silly kid.

What else does he do? He's slowly starting to talk more, or at least try to talk. He'll say 'cheese' when you're taking picture (if you initiate), or when he wants to eat his cheese. He also says some grunting words for please, or something. But at least he'll say, "Up" to be picked up, which he wants a lot of that lately. He has a tricycle my mom got him for Christmas, and he loves it. He doesn't use the pedals yet, but he kinda sits crooked and pushes himself with one leg. But at least he's gotten the steering down. He loves it. He also loves going into different rooms because he gets to go over the molding and it's bumpy.

He also loves the ipad. Seriously, he plays with it like no other. Likes pushing the button, and making the screen move, he's really rather smart. He can unlock it (we don't have the pin set up, so just the swipe-y thing), and he can open apps. Smart kid. Scary.

I think that's all I can think of right now. I'm tired. I need sleep. Hopefully more to come later.

More Beach days...

Passed out from a day at the North Shore...

28 Jan-Mommy & baby at the beach

He loves the water... really...

29 Jan- post eye brow waxing :P

He's not quite sure how to use it... but he sure likes playing with it!

I think the reality that we're moving in August, so I think subconsciously have made it an effort to go to the beach every day. So far, I've been every day this week that I've been off, I've gone to the beach (with the kid of course!) and it's been nice!

Here's a beach video:

Beach Days

I was invited to bring in the new year with some other moms at Ala Moana Beach Park. We had fun & Zeke got to show off his new hat.

What a cute face. Really.

Zeke and Abby (so sweet, she shared her PEZ toys w/Z :P)
Zeke cruising with Asa & Jake with Auntie Marilyn

~~
Also enjoyed some time today (the 6th) at Kaimana's with the kid. Dad went up to North Shore already for the retreat, so the (sick) kid and I are kicking it until we meet up Friday afternoon. This time he got to try out his new beach shoes, boogie board, and sand toys.

It was interesting (or cruel) watching Zeke try to carry his boogie board :)
*hey, it's hard working taking a kid to the beach by yourself! So much stuff to carry!

Sitting in the sand... checking out his beach shoes :)

I don't know if you can see it, but he has sand on his face. He was running toward the water and he tripped. Now he looks like he's about to fall in...

New and toys! Two shovels, a rake and a pail
